The Life photos, however, depict a much tamer Nicholson than the man who once owned 'the wildest house in Hollywood.' 'Fortunately, the rest of Jack’s ample stash of drugs was so well hidden,' Eliot claims, 'in fake shaving cream containers and the like, that the police missed it.' But - as legend has it - there was much more in Nicholson's house that authorities missed. When police searched Nicholson's home during the investigation into the sexual abuse charges against Polanski, they found hashish in an upstairs bedroom.
